Found, Owner and Pediatric Physical Therapist
I grew up in the small-town community of Washington, Indiana. After attending Washington High School, I continued my education at the University of Evansville. I then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Health Service Administration, Special Education and Exercise Science. After completion of my Bachelor’s degree, I continued on to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I molded my college education around my passion for working with children and the hopes of one day owning a clinic specializing in my area of passion, pediatrics.
After graduation, I continued to have a desire for learning all I could about pediatrics, however, I wanted desperately to travel and explore the country. I blended these two dreams working as a traveling physical therapist for two years in several different school systems across the country. Realizing I wanted to learn more about different areas of pediatrics I landed a job in Northern Virginia working as a pediatric outpatient PT for two years. Throughout my experiences I have had wonderful mentors from speech therapists, occupational therapists and other physical therapists who pushed me to round out my education and understanding for helping the “whole” child. This included implementing basic sign language, sensory integration and behavioral techniques to help me optimize the child’s success in my therapy sessions. I also had the wonderful opportunity to become a clinical instructor and share my passion and knowledge of pediatrics with students. Being from a small town, I was soon ready to leave the hustle and bustle of the big D.C .city. I then had an amazing opportunity to work with my best friend in South Carolina as an Early Intervention Therapist. This opportunity allowed me to learn about yet another area of pediatrics. I loved working in a child’s natural home environment, however, I learned my heart was calling me back home to Indiana.
As I began my research on pediatric physical therapy in Southern Indiana, I quickly learned there is a very real need for Physical Therapists specializing in pediatrics. I felt this was my opportunity to start fulfilling my dream of opening a pediatric outpatient clinic helping children of all ages reach their fullest potential. My passion and experiences over the past six years have given me a unique view and knowledge base in pediatrics. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share my knowledge with families and medical professionals in my hometown community and to help every child reach his/her highest unique potential through fun, play and exploration.
